McKesson Antacid provides relief of heartburn and indigestion produced by an excess of acid in the stomach. This product in particular contains both aluminum and magnesium, which makes it less likely to lead to constipation or diarrhea than antacids which only have one or the other. It also has simethicone to break down gas bubbles in the stomach. Antacids in general are a temporary remedy for heartburn; the underlying cause of chronic heartburn should be addressed.
